Fridays Show

Big thanks to all who came out for Karaoke last night (8/28) at the VFW. We had lots of fun, tho there was a smaller crowd than normal.
We heard songs from Cecilia, Marc, Bobbie, Adam, Deryk, Don, Rosemary, and a few guys from Fort Drum who sang a few group numbers, including "God Bless the USA."
We had ten winners on the TGIK Instant Games and did our new SINGALONG... it was lots of fun and very entertaining. Everyone got up to dance to the "Cupid Shuffle," and then when Bobbie performed "Poker Face."
Hope to see everyone nest week at the Watertown American Legion. :)

Week End Highlights Aug14-15

Another two night set of karaoke is over...

Friday, August 14, at the Watertown VFW we had a pretty good sized crowd, and lots of singers. It was a night of real fun, especially as we got closer to the close of the evening. Everyone was having a blast dancing. Erin performed Lady Gaga's "Pokerface," and had almost the whole room up trying to dance.

We did another round of the "Cupid Shuffle" for the rowdy group, and then Pete performed "Let's Twist Again," which continued the dancing mode. It was a fun night.

Some other song highlights include; Rosemary singing "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain," Derek M singing "Ticks," Peggy singing "Walking After Midnight, "Jeff singing "Blue Monday," and Diane finally got to sing Dottie Wests' "Sometimes When We Touch."
Pat performed "Brown Eyed Girl," Maggie performed "Sometimes It Takes Balls to be a Woman," Deb performed "Teddy Bear Song," Bobbie performed "Joy To The World," Velvet sang "Give Me One More Reason," Erin sang "Say You Love Me," Deryk performed "Jump," Sandra performed "Everything I Do," and Adam sang "Heads Carolina, Tails California."
On Saturday, August 15, at the American Legion, we were washed out by Billy Currington performing at the Fair Grounds with Craig Morgan, and Pirate Days in Alexandria Bay. It was a very slow night, as Saturday Karaoke usually is.

Hopefully the Legion will soon promote Saturday nights and even list our billing correctly on the front marquee. :)

Big thanks to all who come out to support Thank God it's Karaoke.

Brooks & Dunn DONE

Country super Duo, Brooks & Dunn have called it quits as singing partners after 20 years of chart topping hits and acclaim.

The duo will release their final album/CD on September 8th, titled "#1s and Then Some."

They begin touring with their final concert tour this week which will billed as "Last Rodeo with Brooks & Dunn."

The twosome has recorded 13 studio albums, sold over 35 million records, and won industry acclaim for their work as a duo for the last two decades. The two insist that the split is not over indifference's, but instead say "It's time, we ran this thing to death."

Their current single release, "Indian Summer" peaked on the national charts and failed to make it into the Top Ten.

Friday 8/1 Highlights

Thanks to all who came out and supported TGIK and the singers on Friday, August 1, at the Watertown American Legion. It helped that their "Queen Of Hearts" game was still not won, and the prize is up to over $130,000, with the winner getting $50, 000.
We had many new singers and our rotation was heavy. Most only got to sing one or two songs throughout the evening. Three guests celebrated their birthdays... Congrats Sandra!!
Stan and Robert are off once again on their way back to sunny Florida for the winter. We will miss them until next summer, but Stan sang his award winning "Cabaret" before heading back.
Other song highlights included; Mark singing "Farewell Party," Jim singing "One Has My Name," Erin singing "Gunpowder & Lead," Doc Pete singing "I Dont Need Your Rocking Chair," Jon singing "Wave On Wave," Pat singing "Show Me The Way," Adam singing "Purple Rain," Maggie singing "Before He Cheats," Jose singing "I'm Yours," and Ginny singing "Who's Cheatin' Who."
It was a wild night and lots of fun. Of course the whole room got up to dance to "Cupid Shuffle," which is now a crowd favorite. Hope to see everyone August 14th at the VFW and the 15th back at the American Legion.
