VFW Halloween Party

Well, the second annual VFW Halloween Karaoke Party has come and gone.  We had an outstanding time on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the VFW with about 100 people in attendance through the evening for the event.

The VFW provided prizes for Best Costume and the runners up, as well as lots of delicious snacks.  A few dedicated singers also provided cakes, pizza, and some door prizes.

We played our TGIK Instant Win Games for all who got up on the dance floor and boogied.  There was a total of 40 prizes awarded for that game, and Bobbie sold 50/50 guesses on a huge jar filled with candy.  Congratulations to Shannon for winning the candy and the cash!

With so many interesting and fun costumes, it was hard for our judges to choose the winners.  Everyone sure out did themselves on their wardrobes this year.  We had the OctoMom, a biker, doctor, several witches, pirates, clowns, a hippie, a baby, and other goblins!  However, the Best Costume went to Ginny who was an old hobo with a pet rat.  She even sang "California Girls" in the rats voice as she puppeted his mouth for him.  It was a riot!

Our second, third, and fourth place winners were Micki as a witch, Kelly as a sexy pirate, and Tom as Oliver Hardy.  Congrats to all winners!

Of course we had karaoke too... lots of singing and dancing through the night, with performances by Jeff, Maggie, Bobbie, Cecil, Deb, Shawn, Tom, Brian, Ginny, Kathy, Doc Pete, Nicole, Rob, Penny, Cecilia, Deryk, and Adam.  It was also nice to hear and see Pat & Diane once again.

Doc Pete won a special award for Best Singer, and Corrina won an award for Best Dancer.
Special thanks to Kelly and Bobbie for help in decorating and setting up for the party, as well as for their support of TGIK! Big thanks to all who attended, and we hope you had lots of fun and come back to sing with us next time.

The hall pulled in some funds, and even had another 50/50 drawing for the building fund. The winner of that prize of $78.00, was "Jerry's Kids" which was donated back to the VFW by the winner.
Of course the show was all about karaoke.. and we had a lot of great singers!
Some of the highlights of the night included; Maggie singing "Strawberry Wine," Amanda singing "I Can't Make You Love Me," Jeff singing "Marry For Money," Robert & Diane singing "I Need You," Penny singing "You Can't Be A Beacon," Pam & Merriane singing "Bop," Deb singing "The Teddy Bear Song," Bob singing "Wonderful Tonight," Mark singing "Signs," Sue B singing "Soldier Boy," Pat singing "Runaway," Alfredo & Lindsey singing "Summer Nights," Mike singing "All Shook Up," Lisa singing "I Feel Lucky," and Amy singing "I'm Like A Bird."

Saturday Nights Show

Saturday 3/14 at the Watertown VFW was a LOT of fun!! We had another huge turnout, with wall-to-wall singing from 8 till 12:30 AM.
I played a few Irish songs at the start and near the end of the night, but aside from "Whiskey In The Jar" most of the guests just wanted to sing country and popular tunes...
Just some of the great performances; Penny on "The Pill," Diane with "Your Good Girl's Gonna Go Bad," Steve & Lisa on "You And I," Ginny on "Help Me Make It Through The Night," Pat on "Hang On Sloopy," & "Brown Eyed Girl," Herb on "Loving Her Was Easier", and "The Gambler."
Bob performed "How Do You Like Me Now," Bobbie sang "Landslide," and Jeff did "What Do You Think About That."
Maggie did her famous "Goodbye Earl," and she and Diane did a nice duet of "When You Love Someone Like That." Rosie got up to sing "The Rose, " and Lisa did a beautiful job on "Black Horse and Cherry Tree." Of course, there were lots of other songs & singers.. Melvin and Corrina danced to almost every song played & performed.. Don't know where they get the energy!

Last Nights Show

Thanks to everyone who came out last night for karaoke at the Watertown VFW. We had non stop singers, and lots of fun, as usual.

The VFW held a 50/50 raffle as part of its fund raiser to help repair the roof. They plan on drawing every Karaoke Night. However... the winner last night was a girl who had already left.

Some of the performances last night were "Takin' Care Of Business" by Doc Pete, "Baby Girl" by Bobbie, "Pretty Woman" by Pat, "Marry For Money" by Jeff, and "Nobody" by Kathy. Also in the spotlight were Maggie, Peggy, Robert, Kirk, Deb, Dee, Pat B, Ginny, Don, and the one and only Lady DI (aka MaLady), to name a few.

Hope to see ya'll back next SATURDAY night at 8 PM for their Irish Jig Karaoke

Night. LOL.
